 Yemaya – The Ocean Mother Goddess in Santería, an Afro-Caribbean religion practiced around the world. With roots in the Yoruba religion, Yemaya was brought to the Caribbean by enslaved Africans as early as the 16th century. A goddess worshipped at the pantheons of Nua Verden.
Yannick – The Sheriff of a small Daevyn colony in the far southern forests.

Ydama Firestorm – A Spark Keeper of Tranthaea. (See also Ythen Firebrand)
Ydelle Emberhand – Flame-Bearer of the Daevyn. She is the mother of Yriel Sparkcatcher and aunt of Yliana Wildfire.
Yden - Gabriel Flamebearer's middleborn child. She grows up to become Kala, Spark Keeper of Tranthaea. (See also Kala)
Ydger – A Daevyn medico from from the far southern forests.
Ydwin Greysoot – The Daevyn Ambassador to the Tranthaean Council.
Yeats – Gabriel Flamebearer's youngest child, named after his favourite poet. (See also Auric Foundling)
Ygnatius – A 12-year-old Daevyn boy. Also known as Fizzle, he is a bookish boy who wants to one day be the Keep Historian.

Ylesha Evertorch – A 16-year-old Daevyn girl. Ylesha is the First Quencher and the daughter of Kaia and Ydama. She becomes the Governor of Ta'ar and the lead delegate at the Bot Sakor Unification Summit. (See also Unification Summit)

Ylexi Coolflame – An ambitious Daevyn High Councillor.
Yliana Wildfire – Flame-Bearer of the Daevyn, Yliana took over from her aunt, Ydelle Emberhand. She is also the cousin to Yriel Sparkcatcher. Yliana has a strong distrust of the Keepers.
Yllard Ashheap – A Daevyn Ascender.
Yllegra – A Daevyn Conservatory student specialising in gru'Esh studies. (See also Conservatory)

Ylwood – The Daevyn Royal Jeweller under Flame-Bearer Ydelle Emberhand.
Ymber – A 12-year-old Daevyn girl. Daughter to a High Councillor.
Ymelda Smokecloud – A Daevyn trader to the gru’Esh, specialising in re-strainers.
Ymmett – A 12-year-old Daevyn boy. Also known as Mett, he is a trouble-maker,  constantly disturbing his classmates.
Ymogen Blisterblaze – First Quencher to the Daevyn.
Ymos Coalburn – A Daevyn trader to the gru’Esh, specialising in re-strainers.
Yndio – A 12-year-old Daevyn boy. Son of a Quencher, would grow up to become First Quencher. (See also, First Quencher)
Yngrid – A Daevyn mother from the far southern forests.
Yorik –  A Daevyn tracker  from the far southern forests.
Yo-Yo – A raeas ridden by Gabriel Sorensen. The first of its kind to be domesticated. (See also Raeas)

Yriel Sparkcatcher – The traitorous daughter to the Flame-Bearer, Ydelle Emberhand, and girlfriend of Ythen Firebrand. Yriel was once the First Quencher and heir to the Daevyn throne, but betrayed her people to follow the plan of the Spark Keeper, Kala. She now lives on the other side of the mountain and plots her revenge...

Yrving Kindleflash
Yrving Kindleflash – The Royal Daevyn Cartographer. A brilliant scholar with little understanding of the real world. His magnum opus is set to be a complete history of Tranthaea.

Ysabel – Gabriel Flamebearer's eldest child. She grows up to become Alkira, Sky Keeper of Tranthaea. (See also Alkira)
Yshaar – The capital city of the Daevyn, Yshaar was built by the First Flame-Bearer. Since then it has grown upwards as layer after layer of new stone structure has been added on, creating a towering city that stands over the Plains.
Ysylum – A city built in the southern forests, near the plains, based around a cave, a stream, and a gully. It began as a Night Haven, but grew far beyond. It is the stronghold of the Flame-Bearer of the Daevyn, but is abandoned when the Daevyn build Yshaar.

Ythen Firebrand – A 17-year-old Daevyn boy, Ythen was the First Quencher before becoming Ydama Firestorm, Spark Keeper of Tranthaea.
Yvander – A father and woodworker from the far southern forests.
Yvangeline – A 12-year-old Daevyn girl. Also known as 360. She is a little bit odd, but sweet and kind.
Yvonne Cinderburn – A Daevyn High Councillor and trusted advisor to both Ydelle Emberhand and Yliana Wildfire. She becomes the First Consul of the Daevyn.
