He often experiences sensory overload, particularly with his sense of smell. When LARPing, he plays the character of Gaameron the high-level Assassin. (See also Flame-Bearer and LARP) |

Gerghin – A piece in a game of Norrighal, the gerghin can skip entire levels of the game if not challenged by a taarmin. (See also Norrighal and taarmin.)
Ghown – An odourless, underground-dwelling creature that lives in the Warrens. It burrows into rock walls, then spits lines of stringy adhesive out into the tunnels to trap unwary travelers, after which it will climb all over them, eating parasites and leaving behind sticky trails that harden on gru'Esh carapaces. Ghowns are harmless but annoying, and the gru'Esh consider the residue of a ghown trail to be a mark of dishonor upon a clumsy traveler.
Gluurfa – A series of stone bridges that span the Roots of Tranthaea. The bridges are at varying levels and many believe the lowest crossings have not yet been rediscovered. In Brydge, Gluurfa translates to The Crossing. (See also The Crossing and The Roots of Tranthaea)

Governor – Title given to the administrator of Ta'ar.
Grand Amputor – The highest rank in the Valang military.
Gravedigger’s Bones – A dice game played by sailors on the Allodapic Ocean. Each player has ten six-sided dice. Each die has two shield symbols, two flame symbols, one coin symbol, and on bone symbol on it. Players roll ten dice at the same time as all the other players, but keep the dice hidden. Each player then bets on their role being the best (i.e. having the most of the same symbol), often bluffing. Each play has the chance to leave the round. Once the betting is complete, players reveal their dice. If there is a tie (i.e. one play has six coins and another has six flames), shields beat flames, coins beat shields, and each bone counts as a minus one of whatever the player rolled the most of. However, if they roll more than five coins, then each bone counts as one coin instead. The winner takes the pot.
Gravog – A Plains predator. Their thin, lithe bodies hover over the ground, then they use their black-and-orange striped legs to launch them towards their prey, which they catch with dual, pronged horns. Gravog hunt in packs and are extremely dangerous.
Great Migration – The movement of the gru'Esh people from the western deserts to the Plains of Tranthaea.
Great Powers – There are four Great Powers, according to the myths and legends of the oral histories of Tranthaea. They are Auracles, Chimerian, Mutalors, and Polyglots. (See also Auracle, Chimerian, Mutalor, Polyglot)
gru’Esh – This species lives in a huge network of underground tunnels and caverns known as the Warrens. The gru’Esh are about eight feet tall with thick, armoured carapaces. They have two shoulder-arms with four fingers each, and two chest-arms, which end in three claws. Their chest-arms can also act as legs if they lower their usually vertical upper bodies to lie horizontally above the ground. Their four other legs then become six as they scurry up and down the rock and dirt walls and ceilings of their underground world. They are nearly blind after living so long in the dark, but have a heightened sense of smell so that they can even sense vibrations around them, like scuffing feet or pumping blood. The gru’Esh were once underwater inhabitants, but after years of living on land they have adapted to their new environment.
There are four Tribes in gru’Esh society: the grey-coloured po’Esh, the red an’Esh, the black je’Esh, and the brown ka’Esh. Each Tribe is led by a Clan Leader and they meet periodically in a Congress that often ends in violence. Each Tribe is its own gender and can only mate with certain other Tribes, making any meeting a fiercely competitive event.
Gru'Esh Migration – The movement of the gru'Esh people from the surface to a solitary life in the Warrens during the rise of the First Flame-Bearer.
Gulsari – A flavoured mist enjoyed by the Aru Faylen. Often savoury in nature, it is usually consumed as a main course.
Gundar – A Severant Second Order within the Valang army.
Gunnar – A pirate who sails under the flag of Captain Renārs Valdis, captain of the Carrion Ghost.
Gurn – A domesticated farm animal of Nua Verden, the gurn is a placid creature, but can be ferocious if attacked. It grows an edible algae on its skin that can be harvested and eaten. Symbol of House Laguna.
Gustav – A small, mousy boy in Marc's school in France in 2014. Often picked on, he is known as 'Little Gus.'
